2nd Year B.Des (Elective) Course

Course Objective
To encourage students to explore forms using clay.
To understand the emotive potencies of forms.

Who are the people who create forms? What tools and materials do they use to create forms?
While some create forms in response to some need, some like to shape materials and discover new forms.

Forms may be representational / figurative / symbolic / abstract.
Votive forms are created for worship. Functional forms need to be ergonomic but can be layered with stories and meanings.
Natural forces - flowing water and winds create fascinating forms, over centuries.
Can human agency, as it manipulates matter, create forms that possess a "natural" quality?
